Whether in the Big Apple or the Heart of It All, there are countless rockstar dreams that go unfilled, and truthfully, playing blues-inspired, barroom rock with his eponymously named band in Columbus was probably never going to get Josh Krajcik too far. Fortunately, by auditioning for The X Factor, the Wooster native got his big break. Krajcik impressed the show’s creator, the notorious Simon Cowell, in the auditions, then wowed America by making it all the way to the show’s finale, finishing runner-up to Melanie Amaro.
Like most reality show successes, Krajcik wound up with a major label deal, signing to BMG. The company is releasing his first solo album, Blindly, Lonely, Lovely, on April 2. Whether Krajcik becomes a star or another Clay Aiken is anyone’s guess, but I suspect that Krajcik is in it for the long haul. Tonight he will be performing at Joe’s Pub.
