Sundown in town this weekend

Usually on OhioNYC.com, we write about people who have moved to New York from Ohio, but today’s subject is sort of the opposite. Sundown was formed when Missouri-born singer and songwriter TK Webb moved from Brooklyn to Columbus and met up with Dustin White, who in addition to running sound for Times New Viking, has played guitar in countless Columbus bands like Between the Devil and the Deep Blue Sea over the years. The two started recording together and before long brought in the rhythm section of Grant Driskell and Blake Pfister (both of TV Eye). The result is the six-song EP, Mansion Burning, which the band recently released as a limited-edition cassette and digitally via its Bandcamp page.

You can hear Sundown play the record’s rugged blend of rock and folk in-person this weekend, tonight at Public Assembly and tomorrow at Union Pool.
